Japanese Cream Stew | From Dance And Stuff

I wanted to make the soup that I made last year after watching The Makanai but I couldn’t remember what kind of soup it was!!! I’ve found it but I don’t want to lose it again and maybe you want to make it too. It is called a Japanese Cream/White Stew and it is delicious. It is rather simple to make although I was surprised by the technique of making this soup (no mirepoix here) and I love cutting vegetables in the rangiri style whenever reasonable. This was also my first time making a béchamel sauce, a thrill!

If you happen to find a better version of this soup (my reading of the description is that this is called a yoshoku - meaning a Western-style version of a Japanese dish) please leave a comment below with the information.
